We have another great week of networking at educational opportunities at Atlanta REIA for the week of August 22nd! Monday is Atlanta REIA West with Catherine McFarland on “Changing Your Thinking & Changing Your Life”. Tuesday we the Note Buyers Group in Smyrna with Tom Boyer. Wednesday is our Atlanta REIA Beginning Investors Group Meeting with Leslie Mathis on “Overcoming Fear of the Deal”. Thursday we have the Cash Cows Commercial Group Meeting with Part 4 of the “How to Find Private Lender” training series with Steve Brown as well as the Haves & Wants deal makers meeting with Joe Thompson. Thursday night we have an Evening with an Expert Webcast. Saturday is a Property Management Workshop with Russ Hiner and Chris Littleton. Come join us!
“Change Your Thinking & Change Your Life!” with Catherine McFarland
TONIGHT, Monday, August 22nd at 6:30 PM at the Altanta REIA West Monthly Meeting taking place at the Cherokee Cattle Company Restaurant in Marietta, Catherine McFarland will share with us easy to use, day-by-day steps to change our way of thinking. The Atlanta REIA West monthly meeting is an Atlanta REIA Subchapter led by Leslie Mathis that is held on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Cherokee Cattle Company restaurant located at 2710 Canton Road in Marietta, GA. Atlanta REIA Members can attend for FREE and guests for $5.00. Show up at 6:30 PM to eat and network before the meeting officially starts at 7:00 PM. Buying your own meal is optional but highly recommended and greatly appreciated since the Cherokee Cattle Company allows us to use their meeting room. The Note Buyers Group an Atlanta REIA educational and networking subgroup led by Tom Boyer that is designed to teach real estate investors how to buy and sell the mortgage notes that secure a property rather than buying the property itself. The group’s goal is to transact deals within the group and increase our professionalism through education in a changing credit market. The agenda for this month’s meeting is (1) Notes for Sale – Bring yours for analysis, (2) Smaller investment amount opportunities and (3) Strategies using seller financing to buy/sell properties, and (4) Legislation update as appropriate.
The Note Buyers Group meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Olive Garden located at 2467 Cobb Parkway SE in Smyrna about 1/2 mile from I-285. The Beginning Investors Group, hosted by Alan McDonald, is a new educational and networking special interest group for new investors who are just getting started in real estate investing as well as “new again” real estate investors who’ve taken a few years off and are looking to start investing again. This month’s Cash Cow Commercial Group Meeting, on Thursday, August 25th at 11:30 AM, is Part 4 of a 7 part series on “How to Find Private Money” to fund your commercial and residential real estate deals.In Part 1, Steve Brown covered how to discover private lender leads a the courthouse. In Part 2, he covered how to structure your deal before you present it to your potential lender. In Part 3, Steve showed you how to show you how to talk to potential lenders, pre-screen them quickly and get an appointment with them to talk about your deal. In Part 4, Steve is going to show you how to put together a business plan and a summary MS PowerPoint presentation that will help you get the money you need to fund your deals. With the right presentation, private lenders will “Show you the money!” Bring your deals for review. Steve will also talk about giving you access to his private money bank that has lots of cash.
