Recently I attended another Real estate Seminar. It was held at an upscale hotel. There were the usual cast of characters in the room… a cross section of beginners to experienced investors. I saw a number of familiar faces. Folks from the local REIAs were in attendance. The instructor was upbeat confident and appeared a knowledgeable doer. He asked the audience 2 telling questions:
- How many of you are making 10 offers a week?
- How many of you have a buyers list?

Where can you find investor friendly vendors, professionals, funding sources, contractors, other investors, realtors, lenders, as well as affordable education, local information and great networking with people who understand what you are doing and speak a common language?
You can find all of this and more at a well run investor group. They go by various names. They may be called Landlord groups, Investor associations, Investor clubs, etc.
You will find them on the Internet. Generally the bigger groups will have a Website and may be on Social Networking Sites. You can do a Google search. Simply put in your city and the name “REIA” (Real Estate Investor Association” or Alliance), you might also look for “Landlord Associations or Groups”. You may find them by going to other sites, for example National Real Estate Investor Association (National REIA), etc.

Joe Thompson’s Haves & Wants Weekly Investor Brainstorming and Deal Making Jam Session
Posted on September 10, 2010 byYesterday (Sept 9, 2010) I attended Joe Thompson’s weekly “Haves and Wants” Meeting for the first time at the suggestion of Gordon Catts and “Cash Flow” Tom Boyer. They had both told me what a great group this was for meeting players who are actively investing in real estate and doing deals and that is exactly what I found there.
The “Haves and Wants Meeting” is a weekly investor’s brainstorming and deal making jam session held at the 5 Seasons Brewing located at 5600 Roswell Rd inside the Perimeter at the “Prado” and it rocks! They meet EVERY Thursday (except major holidays) from 1:30 PM till approximately 3:00 PM. Joe Thompson is a professional financial adviser who has been leading the group for over 5 years and says “This group is not about real estate education and training. We’ll leave the training to REIA groups like yours. This group is all about doing deals and making money!” This may not be an exact quote from John, but it is close enough. His point was that his group is for players who are doing deals now. So, if you’re looking to do deals with real players doing real deals right now, this is the group for you. And did I mention they meet in a brewery?!?! How sweet is that?!? The food and beer is great!

Celebrate Your Last Labor Day with Atlanta REIA!
Hey everyone, our next Atlanta Real Estate Investors Alliance Meeting is on Monday, September 6th, 2010 at 5:30 PM at the Doubletree Hotel in Roswell GA. Yes, it is true that this is the Labor Day holiday for all of you with J.O.B.s, but for the rest of us, this is just another day to get together with our fellow real estate professionals and celebrate the fact that we don’t have jobs thanks to the financial Independence that real estate investing has given us.
So if you have a job, enjoy the weekend and better part of Monday with your friends and family, and then come out and join us at 5:30 PM and celebrate what could be your “Last” Labor Day if you choose to make it so. Then you can spend the rest of the year working with your new real estate investor association to achieve the financial freedom you want and deserve so you can “lose your job” and join the ranks of the “self unemployed”! As you know, many investors make more money off a single deal or two than many of their friends and family members make all year. Atlanta REIA is an Atlanta Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, but is not the same as the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, Inc. (GAREIA.ORG). Atlanta REIA is a totally separate Atlanta Georgia Real Estate Investors Association from the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, Inc.
Some people ask if we are a Georgia Real Estate Investors Association subgroup or subchapter, but we are NOT. Atlanta REIA is NOT a subgroup or subchapter of the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, Inc. Atlanta REIA is completely independent from Georgia Real Estate Investors Association and always will be.
Others ask if we are a splinter group of Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, but we are not… not really. While it is true that we formed several REIA groups due to our own personal ambitions, we wish to remain close allies with Georgia Real Estate Investors Association and help the organization and its membership while having the flexibility of doing our own thing. At our August Atlanta REIA Main Monthly Meeting, Dustin Griffin he is starting a new “Atlanta REIA North” subchapter meeting being held at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the third Tuesday of each month at his office located at 1960 Skylar Hill Dr, Suite D, Buford, Georgia in North Gwinnett County a few miles from the Mall of Georgia. Like the Main Atlanta REIA Monthly Meeting, this subgroup will be led by Dustin Griffin and Gordon Catts and will focus on a wide variety of real estate investing strategies with a special emphasis on Internet Marketing and Technology for the modern day “High Tech Investor”.
