Volunteers Brave the Atlanta Heat to Help Paint Homes for Needy Lakewood Families

Despite the 100 degree heat in Atlanta, many volunteers from the Atlanta Fuller Center, the Atlanta Real Estate Investors Alliance (Atlanta REIA), local churches and the Lakewood Heights neighborhood showed up today at 10 Gould Street to help paint homes as part of the Fuller Center’s Project Lakewood. Volunteers helped paint the Kinson’s home in Lakewood Heights which is being fully renovated by the Fuller Center of Atlanta. Volunteers also painted Stanley’s front porch across the street as he cooked his famous BBQ chicken for volunteers.

Mark Galey, President of the Fuller Center of Atlanta, also gave me a personal tour of the LifeCycle Building Center located at 900 Wendell Court, Suite C in Atlanta near 6 flags. The LifeCycle store sells new and used tools, building materials and supplies to the public far below wholesale prices. All proceeds help the Fuller Center fund local construction, renovations and repairs of homes for needy families within the Atlanta metro area. LifeCycle also accepts reusable materials such as cardboard, metal, aluminum, plastic and other items that can be recycled in efforts to help keep some of this waste out of Georgia garbage dumps. By recycling some of these items through LifeCycle, you can the Fuller Center turn your trash into cash that can be used to fund more Fuller Center Projects and help further improve local communities.
