Q: Does QuickBooks 2013 Integrate with Other Software?

A: Yes, in the following areas

  • Microsoft Word and Excel integration requires Word and Excel 2003, 2007, or 2010 (including 64-bit)
  • Synchronization with Outlook requires QuickBooks Contact Sync for Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010 (including 64-bit) (downloadable for free at: www.quickbooks.com/contact_sync)
  • Email estimates, invoices, and other forms with Windows Outlook, Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird, as well as web mail services such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, and Hotmail
  • Compatible with QuickBooks Point of Sale version 8.0 and later Note: Other Point of Sale Programs may or may not work well with QuickBooks

Q: Is QuickBooks Pro 2013 is right for me?

A: QuickBooks made a lot of changes in 2013.  At first it had a number of areas that needed to be addressed, but as time moves along these are being fixed.  In general QuickBooks is for:

  • Businesses who need full general ledger accounting
  • Businesses who need fundamental inventory control (clients with advanced inventory needs should consider QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 13.0)
  • Businesses who need essential reporting (clients who need reports tailored to their industry should consider QuickBooks Premier 2013)
  • Businesses who want to be able to organize all their customer, vendor and employee information in one place

Q: Are there other improvements to QuickBooks 2013?

A: QuickBooks 2013 has additional improvements you’ve been asking for that make managing your books easier than ever:

  • Reports: Add favorite, recent and memorized reports to the home page
  • Print Bill: Print a bill to route for approval or file for record keeping
  • Billable Time and Expense Preference: When entering time or expenses, you now have the option to control whether QuickBooks automatically bills for them. Separate controls for time and for expenses.
