Chris LittletonI wanted to personally congratulate Atlanta REIA Business Member, Chris Littleton, of Solutions Realty Network, for becoming the next President of the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association (Georgia REIA).  Chris expressed an interest in finding new ways that Atlanta REIA and Georgia REIA can work together in the near future to better serve our members and the local real estate community.

Chris and his wife Donna have been outstanding members and supporters of Atlanta REIA and we thank them both for all of their ongoing participation and support.  In fact, Chris and Donna will be starting a new Atlanta REIA subgroup later this month in Peachtree City for real estate entrepreneurs and small business owners that will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. More details will be posted on AtlantaREIA.com very soon.

Chris, all of us at Atlanta REIA wish you the very best of luck in your new position! Read More→

Buying REO Properties at Auction
What to Expect & How to Buy

So many properties have been foreclosed on and repossessed by the banks which are using “ballroom auctions” to liquidate the extreme excess of properties they have in inventory right now.  Many times these REO’s sell for 40-50-60 cents on the dollar!  There are some incredible deals to be had at these auctions, but you MUST know what you are doing to play in this game.  The deals are plentiful if you know what to look for and what to avoid.

Atlanta REIA West MeetingCome join us on Monday, February 28th at 6:30 PM as we kick off our very first Atlanta REIA West Meeting at the Cherokee Cattle Company located at 2710 Canton Road in Marietta, GA, where Leslie Mathis will take you step-by-step through what you can expect, and more importantly, what you need to know, to successfully buy REO Properties at these ballroom auctions.  She will even cover a couple of strategies that will allow you to make quick cash without long-term ownership, simply by putting these properties under contract, then finding investor-buyers for them.  Get paid thousands of dollars in just 30 to 45 days!

Atlanta REIA West wants to hear from you—your input is needed!  Come network, learn, and mastermind with us as we kick off this exciting new group.  This will be your opportunity to let us know what’s important to you, what you want to see and hear, meeting topics, etc. at future Atlanta REIA West Meetings.  This is your group, so let us know what you want it to be.  Come be a part of custom-building this group to your desires! Whether you are brand new to real estate or a seasoned investor, you will find this evening to be both very informative and entertaining.  Atlanta REIA Members can attend this meeting for FREE. Other REIA members and guests only pay $5.00. See you there! Read More→

Watch this video to see what we have going on at the Atlanta Real Estate Investors Alliance for December 1st through 11th. Be sure to attend our upcoming Atlanta REIA Main Monthly Meeting on December 6th at the Doubletree Hotel in Roswell Georgia at 5:30 PM. Dave Lindahl, owner of over 7200 commercial units, will be speaking about how to successfully invest in commercial real estate and make a fortune in today’s real estate market. Afterwards, we will be having a Christmas Party with music, a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. Come eat, drink, learn, network and have fun with us!

Do you old time REIA group members remember back when real estate gurus used to attend their local REIA group meetings on a regular basis? Where have all the local real estate gurus gone? Why don’t the real estate gurus attend their local REIA groups anymore as part of the general membership?

Even though Atlanta, Georgia has many local real estate gurus, the only time I ever seem to see them at local REIA group meetings is when they are occasionally invited to come speak and sell a product or service. There are a few notable exceptions, but this seems to be the norm. As far as national real estate gurus go, your average REIA group will parade a new real estate guru before you each and every month at your main REIA group meeting selling a similar, and often more expensive, product or service. As a result, many of these real estate guru’s sales fall far short of their desired sales mark at such REIA groups and they don’t seem to want to attend or speak at REIA groups as much anymore. Atlanta REIA Main Monthly MeetingYesterday evening, many folks turned out for our Atlanta REIA Meeting despite the holiday, to celebrate would could be their Last Labor Day and I want to personally thank everyone who attended. We really appreciate your support for our new Atlanta real estate investor group.

Several investors I spoke to at the meeting had done quite well in the Atlanta real estate investing market a few years ago, but got burned on a few deals gone bad when the housing market crashed more recently. As a result, they took some time off from real estate investing to recover, regroup and had to get a job to pay the bills. They came out last night to get re-focused and re-energized so they can accomplish great things buying, selling and/or holding real estate once more since housing prices are at an all time low. I commend you all for doing what it takes to get re-engaged and not take a few bad blows as permanent defeat. Just know that Atlanta REIA is here to help you in your future endeavors.

Atlanta REIA Main Monthly MeetingHey everyone, our next Atlanta Real Estate Investors Alliance Meeting is on Monday, September 6th, 2010 at 5:30 PM at the Doubletree Hotel in Roswell GA. Yes, this is the Labor Day holiday for all of you with J.O.B.s. But for the rest of us, Labor Day is just another day since every day is a job free holiday. So if you have a job, enjoy the weekend and better part of Monday with your friends and family, and then come out and join us at 5:30 PM and celebrate what may be your Last Labor Day. Then you can spend the rest of the year working with your new real estate investor association to achieve the financial freedom you want and deserve so you can “lose your job” and join the ranks of the “self unemployed”! We are absolutely not suggesting that you quit your job, but that you do indeed start to work toward financial independence through real estate investing. As you know, many investors make more money off a single deal or two than many of their friends and family members make all year and you can too!

At our next Atlanta REIA Main Meeting on Sept 6th, we will not only be celebrating your last Labor Day, but we will also be announcing our new membership programs, how you can become a charter member and we also want to get your input on our upcoming educational programs for the next year. After all, at Atlanta REIA, your real estate success is our mission and we want to give you what you want and need. So come out and join us on Labor Day!

Atlanta REIA is an Atlanta Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, but is not the same as the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, Inc. (GAREIA.ORG). Atlanta REIA is a totally separate Atlanta Georgia Real Estate Investors Association from the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, Inc.

Some people ask if we are a Georgia Real Estate Investors Association subgroup or subchapter, but we are NOT. Atlanta REIA is NOT a subgroup or subchapter of the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, Inc. Atlanta REIA is completely independent from Georgia Real Estate Investors Association and always will be.

Others ask if we are a splinter group of Georgia Real Estate Investors Association, but we are not… not really. While it is true that we formed several REIA groups due to our own personal ambitions, we wish to remain close allies with Georgia Real Estate Investors Association and help the organization and its membership while having the flexibility of doing our own thing.
