I am very excited to announce that my good friend, Scott Scheel, is going to be our guest speaker at our Atlanta REIA Main Meeting on February 7, 2011 at the W Hotel Atlanta Perimeter located at 111 Perimeter Center West in Atlanta across the street from Perimeter Mall. Many of you have heard me say that I met Scott about 10 years ago at my first Ron LeGrand “Ugly House” boot camp where Scott and I were both attending as students. Learn insider secrets of locating property, lenders and other investors, as well as how to research ownership and mortgage information, sales prices, liens and judgments, etc. We will take an actual tour of the courthouse! Courthouse records are easily accessible and offer a variety of opportunities. We will find property owners of vacant properties. Locate legal descriptions of properties. Find out sales prices before making an offer. Find out about private lenders. See what liens and judgments are outstanding against the property before making an offer. Find out what else the seller/buyer owns. We will go into the Deed Record room, examine the books as well as go into the tax assessors domain to determine how to track down ownership of vacant properties.

Movers and Shakers is an brand new Atlanta REIA educational and networking group led by Gordon Catts that is designed to meet the interests and needs of intermediate and advanced investors. Our first meeting is on Monday, January 17th at 11:00 AM at the 5 Seasons Brewing located at 3655 Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta, GA (map). The doors open at 11:00 AM and the program officially starts at 11:30 AM. Atlanta REIA members can attend at no charge and non-members for $5.00.
