Four-Letter Words That Can Make You Rich!
Posted on August 1, 2015 byOk, I admit it. I use four-letter words. A lot. Some of these four-letter words are the kind you may not like to hear if you’re a fine, upstanding person of high moral fiber. Oh well.
The OTHER four-letter words I use are awesome, and if you know how to utilize them properly, they can make you super RICH! Best of all, you can say THESE four-letter words in ANY crowd, around anyone, without having to worry about getting slapped or getting the evil eye.
So, without any further delay, I’d like to share a short list of some of my favorite four-letter words that can make you rich & are safe to say around women, kids, and Baptists. ;)
I’ll also present these words in a way that mostly applies to real estate, but I promise you that what you’re about to learn here will apply to ALL areas of your life where you want to have success!
FAIR enough? (hey! That was a four-letter word already!) Here we go…
The first word on the list is an F-Word: FLIP.
Yes, this applies to real estate. When I first got started in real estate investing, this was considered to be almost as bad as the other F-Word! As usual, some idiots did things illegally & almost messed things up really badly for us. But the concept is awesome, and completely legal. Moral & ethical, too!
Simply put: To FLIP is to buy something for a low price, then sell it for more than you paid for it.
In real estate, most people call this wholesaling or rehabbing. You get a house under contract for a certain price, then simply assign that contract to someone else for that price + your profit on top of it. Since it’s still a great deal for them, they buy from you OR you buy a house that needs work, get the work done to make the house beautiful, then resell it for a profit to someone who is going to live there. More risk & work, but much more profit/reward.
Master the art of the FLIP, and you can make some really BIG chunks of cash, quickly.
The next word is another F-Word: FEAR
Now, most people may consider this word to be negative. And most times, that’s correct. We all have fear inside us. Its job is actually to protect us from all sorts of things. However, MOST people let that fear paralyze them. They let it stop them from taking the right actions that will lead to success. For example, if there’s a deal to be done & everything looks good, most people will be too scared to actually do the deal, or even pick up the phone to get the ball rolling on one.
Most people let that fear stop them from doing the things they know they need to do to accomplish their dreams & desires. But not YOU! Because when you know how to truly harness FEAR, you’ll be able to do anything you want, while most everyone else just watches & wonders.
The next word on the list is the perfect follow-up to the last one: PUSH
Here’s what a lot of people do when they feel that fear: They stop. They think. Then they think some more. They over-analyze and over-complicate things to the point that they essentially wind up just talking themselves out of doing anything. They do nothing. Or they wind up doing very little, taking meek & meager actions that get no results. They’ll then justify their decision with thoughts like “it probably won’t work out anyway,” “I just don’t feel ready for that yet,” and other such nonsense.
Successful people FEEL the FEAR… and DO IT anyway! They don’t over-think things. They just PUSH right through it, and learn anything else they need to know along the way.
The funny thing is that once you get through that fear, you’ll probably find that the stuff you thought you were so afraid of really wasn’t all that scary at all! At that point, it’s ok to laugh at yourself.
So: Feel the Fear, and PUSH through it anyway to get the deal done.
In other words: Take ACTION…even when you’re scared! Action cures FEAR. Write that down.
So far so good. Next word is the S-Word: SURE
This 4-letter word really means two things:
- Stay positive! Believe in yourself. Believe that you can do it, and
- Say “Yes.” Things can only happen when you say yes to something. NOTE: I’ll have to throw a disclaimer in here for you to use your common sense, obviously.
Those who make the most money, have the most happiness, and generally live better lives are people who have more positive attitudes and say “yes” to making things happen. Does that mean that they never say “no” to something? No, of course not. Does that mean that they never have a crappy day or have things go wrong? Duh! No! But… If you compare their lives on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis to other people who have a negative attitude or always say “no” to things, I think we’ll all come to the same conclusion, right?
Lesson: Be SURE about things more often & say SURE to opportunities that come your way!
Almost done. Last word: AIDA
No, I’m not referring to the Italian Opera Aida, by Giuseppe Verdi. This AIDA is an acronym, often used in marketing, which stands for: Attention, Interest, Desire (or Decision), and Action. This is a short formula for success whenever you write an ad, give a sales presentation, etc.
The first thing you always need to do is get your prospect’s attention. Call them by name. Ask them a question. Yell at them. Slap ‘em in the face. Do whatever you’ve got to do to get them to snap out of their daydreams & pay attention to what you’ve got to say.
Then you’ve got to get their interest. Get them interested in continuing to listen to you (or keep reading your ad or letter). Next, arouse their desire in your product or service. Yes, this is the sexy part. Finally, get them to take action.
It’s been said that “nothing happens until somebody sells something!” In business, that’s true. So if you want to get rich, guess what? You’re going to have to sell something! Study, master, and apply the acronym of AIDA in all your marketing, and you’re well on your way.
If you want to see a great video of this in action, watch the Alec Baldwin scene from the movie “Glengarry Glen Ross.” A classic, powerful scene I’m sure you’ll enjoy. And there’s plenty of four-letter words in there, too! ;)
So there you have it! Who knew that you could get RICH by using four-letter words?!
There’s something I bet you never learned in school!
But seriously… practice & use these marvelous four-letter words every chance you get, and you’ll find yourself living a better, bolder, happier, and much RICHER life.
Here they are again: FLIP, FEAR, PUSH, SURE, and AIDA.
FLIP your way to success by negotiating a great deal & selling it for a profit!
FEAR is something we all feel. Master this emotion & you’ll walk more boldly.
PUSH your way through that fear & uncertainty by taking action anyway!
SURE is the right attitude to have AND the right thing to say when opportunity knocks.
AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. Always use that in your marketing.
Just make sure you don’t mix THESE four-letter words up with the ones you may be more familiar with and you’ll be just fine! (Well, sometimes it’s ok lol)
Until Next Time,
Tony Pearl
