As you know, my good friend and mentor, Ron LeGrand, spent a good deal of time over the past few weeks, during our webinars, teleconference calls, main meeting and one day workshop, illustrating the importance of having a good website to generate and capture leads online. Hearing him say this repeatedly brought back fond memories. I remember when I approached Ron back in the early 2000’s at his Information Marketing Bootcamp, after websites had already been quite popular since the early to mid 90’s, and told him about the importance of having a good website to generate and capture leads online, mange buyer and seller leads and to run your investing business remotely from virtually any computer on the planet with an Internet connection. I told him about how my websites and back office business management system had revolutionized my real estate investing business.

At first, Ron was quite skeptical because he did not use a computer at the time and had been buying houses for years without a PC or the Internet. However, I asked him to take a look at my websites and online business management systems from his students point of view rather than his own. When he did, he too soon realized that the rest of us, especially the younger generation, do use computers and the Internet quite heavily and that we needed online tools and technology to help us run our businesses more effectively. Shortly thereafter, Ron incorporated websites into his own real estate buying and selling business and he has been encouraging new and seasoned investors to use websites to generate and capture leads online ever since.

Fast forwarding to today, I think it is safe to say that 80 to 90% of home buyers and sellers use the Internet to buy and sell their home. Because of this, having a good website that generates traffic, captures leads and helps you and your staff manager your leads and your real estate investing business is more important than ever. In the year 2011, if you don’t have a professional website, many people are not going to take you very seriously and you are going to be stuck doing business the old fashioned way which many of us know is not working in today’s trouble economy and soft real estate market. But even if you agree you need a site, you don’t just want any site… you want a good site… a really good site built by investors for investors. You want a site that will grow and adapt to the current economy, the current real estate market, current technology and so on. You want to work with website providers who know the real estate investing business and will teach you how to utilize modern technology to grow your business, not just a bunch computer geeks who are willing to build you an expensive science project and expect you to know how to use it.

That’s where I come in.
